Apple's iOS7 is now public!
I dove in headfirst and updated the OS on my iPhone 4S without taking the time to read articles before hand. This is pretty typical for me, as I like to learn from experience, not from reading an instruction manual. It has helped, now - after the fact - to find some helpful articles. Here's some of the best I've found, most of which are from CNet, one of my favorite resources for the lastest in technology news.
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly (although iOS 7 is "pretty" on the eyes)
Here, CNet shares the 7 best things about iOS 7 and the 7 worst things about iOS 7. How's that for fair and unbaised? :)Some of my favorite new features are a built in flashlight and the ability to access it and other important tools (camera, calculator, clock) from the new Control Center.
Wherefore art thou, oh battery life?
TUAW (The Unoffical Apple Webblog) has some great tips on adjusting some settings so that the new features don't drain your battery.Don't look back! But you can get there, if you need to.
CNet also has a whole article about one new feature, a new "gesture" to go back a 'page' form where you were.-------------------------
What NOT to do when you are having computer problems
Don't ignore it!! I can't count the number of problems I've had a computer user tell me "My computer crashed..." and they follow with something like this... "Oh yeah, it had been giving me this error message for a couple months, but I just ignored it." "Something kept popping up when my computer started, I just closed out of it every time." "It's been running slow for so long, I've just gotten used to it."In my opinion, THE worst thing you can do for a computer is to ignore when it has a problem. Just like any other piece of machinery, including your car, or your own body, if there is a noticeable problem, the worst thing to do is ignore it because it WILL NOT get better, only WORSE!!
Here's to hoping if you start noticing a problem with your computer, you have someone trustworthy to call who can help you. If you don't already have someone you trust with your computer, I'd be happy to help you out. :)
God bless, and may the tech be with you!
